MyShopList Privacy Policy

MyShopList is a shopping list app with voice add, receipt scanning, loyalty cards and price information, provided by My Global Pty Ltd (ABN 33 702 956 885). This page explains exactly what MyShopList does with your information. It forms part of our general privacy policy, which covers security, data breaches, overseas disclosure and how to complain.

At a glance

What we handle

Shopping list items, and brand and size preferences (for AI auto-fill).
Loyalty card numbers, member names and points balances.
Voice requests, as transcribed text only.
Device type and OS version, anonymous crash reports, and aggregate non-identifiable usage analytics.

What we do not collect

Full payment card numbers or financial account details.
Government identifiers (passport, TFN, Medicare).
Health information.
Precise GPS location, advertising identifiers, or social media credentials.

AI, voice and receipts

AI: when you speak or type a request, its text and your saved brand preferences are sent to Anthropic PBC (USA) through its API to structure the item. We do not send your name, loyalty card numbers, receipt images or precise location. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models by default (anthropic.com/legal/privacy). We do not store these requests beyond the session.
Voice: voice transcriptions are processed locally and only the resulting text is used. We do not store raw voice audio.
Receipts: receipt scanning uses Google ML Kit on your device. Receipt images are never uploaded and are not stored after processing.

Loyalty cards and sync

Loyalty card numbers are stored on your device using AES-256 encrypted storage. We never share them with loyalty program operators or advertisers.
iOS: optional sync to your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple ID and Apple's privacy policy. We cannot access it.
Android: optional sync through Firebase Firestore (Google), with data in Australia-region servers where available.
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest.

Permissions

Microphone and speech recognition (only while the mic button is active), camera (only when you tap Scan), and photo library (only when you tap Import). You can turn any of these off in your device settings, which only disables that feature.

Your rights

You can delete your data at any time with Settings → Delete All Data, or by emailing us. You can also ask to access or correct it.
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, sell it, or market to you without your explicit consent.
MyShopList is not directed at children under 13.
Overseas recipients: Anthropic PBC (USA), Google Firebase (USA / Australia region) and Apple iCloud (varies by Apple ID region).
